National Prescription Drug Take-back Day

5755 Cedar Lane, Columbia, MD 21044Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center will accept and dispose of unused, expired and unwanted medicines, no questions asked, at a drive-through to collect tablets, capsules, liquids, creams, e-cigarettes, vape pens and needles for safe, secure, environmentally friendly disposal. The event is part of National Prescription Drug Take-back Day. Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center will join organizations throughout the U.S. to prevent the misuse of prescription medications, many of which continue to supply the nation’s opioid epidemic. But before you do that, join us for this final performance of the season which will include something for everyone. We'll present the Mid-Atlantic premiere of native Baltimorean Dwayne Milburn's Centennial Celebration Overture and the story of Tubby the Tuba performed by our very own principal tubist, Tom Holtz and featuring narration by a special guest personality! Sprinkled with marches, new and old, plus some traditional Americana, this will be a great closing for our season. Maryland Winds is an ensemble of professional musicians in the greater Baltimore–Washington, DC, area. Most are current or past performers with the premier military bands, in major symphony orchestras, or as freelancers. Many are also active music educators in schools and private studios.
